Many New York Yankees fans did not care to stick around until the bitter end.
The Yankees’ season came to an end on Wednesday with a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 4 of their ALDS series. After the Yankees extended their season on Tuesday with a 9-6 win in Game 3, they were unable to replicate the feat in Wednesday’s Game 4.
As the top of the ninth inning was about to get underway at Yankee Stadium in New York, N.Y. with the Blue Jays leading 5-1, television cameras caught the Yankees faithful making a beeline for the exits in troves. Take a look at the video, which aired on local Toronto station Sportsnet.

Those tickets cannot have been cheap. But nevertheless, it appears that the New York fans had no faith in their team to pull off a late comeback. Indeed, the Yankees, though they did scratch across a concession run on an Aaron Judge RBI single, fell short in the ninth inning and lost 5-2.
After the Yankees made it to the World Series last year, a flameout in the ALDS this year can only be characterized as an immense disappointment. While the Yankees did have a cathartic victory in the AL Wild Card series against the hated Boston Red Sox, they still fell way short of their ultimate goal.
It had to especially sting for the Yankees to fall to the division rival Blue Jays as well. They went just 5-8 against Toronto during the regular season and even took some personal jabs from the Blue Jays that they ultimately failed to get revenge for.
