Report: Caden Grice to undergo Tommy John surgery, out 12-14 months

The Diamondbacks farm system has suffered another major injury in 2024. Farm director Shaun Larkin has told PHNX’s Jesse Friedman that pitching prospect Caden Grice will undergo Tommy John surgery.

Prospect Spotlight: Diamondbacks’ Caden Grice Impresses in Debut Single-A Start

During his 1st career start in Single-A, Caden Grice was nearly perfect with the Visalia Rawhide through 2.2 innings. Grice, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2023 draft by the Diamondbacks, struck out seven of the nine batters that he faced on Friday.
