Arman Tsarukyan had already revealed that he was not interested in being the backup fighter for the UFC White House card. However, fans wondered what his future would look like, and previously, he had shown interest in fighting for the BMF title against Charles Oliveira. Recently, Tsarukyan broke his silence on his next fight update.

Rumors had been swirling about a potential fight between Arman Tsarukyan and Charles Oliveira in September. But Tsarukyan said there was no truth to them. The lightweight contender explained that he had only mentioned Oliveira among several possible opponents. During his recent talk with Ariel Helwani, he said:

“I said I might fight this guy. It was Oliveira because, you know, you never know. I said I might fight him, too, and people just started posting that I’m fighting him. My fight could be in September, October, December… you never know.”

Tsarukyan made it clear that nothing had been finalized and that he still had no idea who his next opponent would be or when he would return. Meanwhile, the Armenian fighter was waiting for his chance to fight Ilia Topuria, as it was the toughest and biggest fight available, given how much fame Topuria had gained.

Arman Tsarukyan Says Why Ilia Topuria Should Fight Islam Makhachev Over Him

If Ilia Topuria defeated Justin Gaethje at the UFC White House card, his next opponent could become one of the biggest talking points in MMA. Arman Tsarukyan believed Topuria should face Islam Makhachev next. During his recent interview with Mike Heck, Tsarukyan said:

“It’s a third title, big money, and if he loses to Islam, it’s okay. If he loses to me at 155 [pounds], he’s going to be gone.”

The Armenian fighter said a fight with Makhachev would give Topuria the chance to win a third title and earn a massive payday. However, before any future matchups, the lightweight champion had to win against Justin Gaethje at the White House card.
