Conor McGregor’s business partner confirms superstar fighter’s planned UFC comeback at The White House

Conor McGregor’s comeback teases might be legitimate after all.

UFC superstar Conor McGregor hasn’t fought in the Octagon in four years, but his lust to fight at least one more time remains stronger than ever, according to his prominent business partner.

U.S. President Donald Trump made a huge announcement earlier this month when he shared the UFC’s plans to host an event on The White House lawn next year. McGregor, Jon Jones, and other top MMA names expressed profound interest in returning on the card.

Amid UFC CEO Dana White’s recent promise to make the White House card bigger than his Las Vegas Sphere event last year, McGregor could be a key part of the card’s anticipated success.

BKFC’s David Feldman reveals recent talk with Conor McGregor about UFC comeback

McGregor has repeatedly teased a return to the UFC Octagon since injuring his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Since the July 2021 pay-per-view, McGregor was supposed to return to the cage at UFC 303 before withdrawing due to injury, and was linked to a boxing match with Logan Paul earlier this year before negotiations stalled.

Many are doubtful that McGregor will return to the cage almost five years away from competition. But according to a key member of McGregor’s inner circle, his latest comeback attempt is 100 percent real.

During a recent appearance on the Ariel X Ade show, Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman revealed a recent conversation with McGregor.

“He’s got two [UFC] fights left on his contract, and he’s got to get right. The whole world’s waiting, is he going to get in shape and fight?” Feldman said of McGregor.

“And he told me in person, he whispered in my ear. ‘I’m in the testing pool, I’m getting ready to make my comeback. I’m going to fight on that [White House] card, then I’m going to have another fight, and then we can talk.

“That’s what he said.”

As of this writing, McGregor hasn’t reacted to Feldman’s recent admissions, and it’s uncertain if he’s back in the UFC’s drug testing pool. Once he returns to the pool, McGregor will be sidelined for at least six months before being eligible to return to competition.

McGregor is undoubtedly one of the greatest UFC fighters of all-time, despite his recent losing skid. He became the UFC’s first simultaneous two-weight world champion when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

If Feldman’s claims are proven true, a matchup between McGregor and Michael Chandler would make sense for a potential showdown at The White House. But the UFC will apparently have to get over a major hurdle to book McGregor, after the Irish star’s recent ultimatum to the promotion.

Conor McGregor gave Dana White, UFC an ultimatum ahead of potential return

McGregor recently said that in exchange for a UFC comeback fight, he wants the promotion to sign one of his top teammates to the roster. Lee Hammond, who fought under McGregor’s wing on The Ultimate Fighter 31, is the man who McGregor insists the UFC will need to sign in order to secure his comeback attempt.

Hammond lost to Kurt Holobaugh on TUF 31 and was eliminated from the seasonal competition. But, Hammond remains a top prospect in MMA after recent appearances in Bellator and Eire Fighting Championship.

McGregor has lost three of his last four fights overall, with the lone victory during that span coming in a first-round knockout against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246.
