Rising welterweight Michael Morales believes Ian Machado Garry will lose his Aug. 15 title fight against Islam Makhachev without question.

Garry faces Makhachev for the UFC welterweight title at UFC 330 in Philadelphia, where the champion will make his first defence at 170 pounds. Morales told MMA Junkie's Danny Segura on the "Hablemos MMA" podcast that he sees no scenario in which the Irishman wins.

Morales Predicts Dominant Makhachev Performance

"Zero, zero, zero chance," Morales said, per MMA Junkie. "I don't see Ian with many chances. It would have to be a brutal shot that stops Makhachev. I'm 100 percent going with Makhachev. So no, no, no: Ian, definitely not."

Morales expects Makhachev to control the fight on the mat for all five rounds or finish Garry before the final bell. The 19-0 prospect, who serves as backup for the UFC 330 main event, said Makhachev will strike before securing takedowns and applying the ground control that has defined his career.

Morales has scored 14 knockouts during his unbeaten run and continues his climb in the welterweight rankings. Makhachev enters as a heavy betting favourite despite some prominent voices in the sport giving Garry a legitimate chance to pull the upset.

UFC 330 takes place at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia with the Makhachev-Garry title fight anchoring the card.
