Paddy Pimblett has put the UFC featherweight division on notice in a social media post.
11-0 Luke Riley has been linked with a move to MMA’s premier promotion throughout 2025.
In March, Molly McCann claimed the hottest free agent in MMA was ‘a couple of weeks’ from joining the UFC.
It took longer than expected, but the 26-year-old prospect finally joined the UFC roster on Wednesday.
Fans begged Dana White to sign Luke Riley after he won by knockout earlier this year.
“It’s official, signed for the @ufc,” the undefeated featherweight tweeted on Wednesday.
As news of his UFC deal spread, Paddy Pimblett sent a menacing message to the 145lb division.
“My man @lukerileymma finally put pen to paper with the @ufc,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Was a long time coming, but it was inevitable.
“All you FWs aren’t ready for my boy WATCH.”
Paddy Pimblett brutalized Michael Chandler to win his biggest fight to date at UFC 314 in April.
In June, ‘The Baddy’ confronted Ilia Topuria in the cage after his lightweight title win at UFC 317.
Their long-time feud makes Pimblett a contender for the next 155lb title shot, but it’s currently unclear if he will be allowed to leapfrog the likes of Arman Tsarukyan and Justin Gaethje.
Fans believe Pimblett’s next fight is set after a shock ranking update saw him overtake rivals.
The 30-year-old Englishman bizarrely jumped from #9 to #7 without throwing a single punch.
Only time will tell if Pimblett’s unexpected rankings boost means he’s next in line for a shot at Topuria.
