Brett Davis-Imagn Images

For its fifth visit to Atlanta, the UFC delivered on a stirring clash between two of the top welterweights on the planet when Kamaru Usman returned from a nearly two-year layoff in the UFC Atlanta to defeat the hulking Joaquin Buckley. Using his superior wrestling, “The Nigerian Nightmare” stifled much of the younger fighter’s offense to log a convincing unanimous decision victory.

In the co-main event of UFC Atlanta, former strawweight queen Rose Namajunas got back into the win column by pushing past strong flyweight contender Miranda Maverick. Surviving a potentially fight-ending submission in round two, “Thug” rallied to nab the unanimous decision.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some post-event facts for UFC Atlanta’s main card competitors.
