Bubba Wallace flips off team owner Denny Hamlin

Bubba Wallace was fuming at Denny Hamlin, his team owner, after Hamlin played a big role in costing him a win during Sunday’s race.

Wallace was in position to win the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Motor Speedway in Kansas City, Ks. in an overtime lap. However, Hamlin, who along with Michael Jordan co-owns the 23XI Racing team Wallace is part of, came in late and bumped Wallace into the wall in a bid to take the lead.

Hamlin’s move ended up opening the door for Chase Elliott, who came around the inside to narrowly beat Hamlin to the checkered flag.

Wallace is now below the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff elimination cutline, and his own boss is partly to blame for it. Hamlin, for his part, was pursuing the 60th win of his Cup Series win, and had led 159 laps up to that point.

After the race, an angry Wallace could actually be seen flipping off Hamlin in the cooldown lap, and he was not any more charitable after the race.

“He’s a dumbass for that move for sure. I don’t care if he’s my boss or not,” Wallace said of Hamlin.

A week ago, Hamlin crashed his own teammate out of frustration. Nobody is off-limits to him, not even the cars he owns.
