Bubba Wallace Has 5-Word Message After Qualifying Disaster

Bubba Wallace and 23XI Racing have their work cut out for them heading into the Coca-Cola 600 this Sunday.

If we're being brutally honest, this season hasn't gone according to plan for 23XI Racing. Things have gotten so rough that NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck of The Athletic recently called out Wallace and his teammate, Tyler Reddick, for failing to live up to expectations this year.

"23XI, they’re weird, man. They’ve fallen off," Gluck said. "What’s up with that? I don’t get that at all. Reddick might’ve had the fastest car at Texas, he just never got the track position. But then he told me at Texas, ‘Oh yeah, I feel like what happens, the speed we’ll have at Texas will translate to Kansas, even though they’re different tracks,’ and then they just didn’t really show anything.

"I thought, you know, I guess Bubba was up there. When he had his issue, he was maybe sixth or something. He had a penalty and then he was gone, you know, which happens a lot these days, right? If you have a setback, you’re kind of done, unless it’s early in the race, then you could overcome it. But yeah, I mean, Reddick — we never really saw what we’d expect out of them, right? So, I don’t really know."

Unfortunately for Wallace, his luck didn't turn around during qualifiers this Saturday.

With qualifying in the books, Wallace will start 32nd at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday night. His fans obviously expected a higher position for the Coca-Cola 600.

Wallace, however, isn't worried about his position. He told his fans that he'll be just fine.

"Qualifying is overrated these days," Wallace wrote on social media Saturday afternoon.

We're not sure if calling qualifying "overrated" is the right move, but Wallace is going for it.

The Coca-Cola 600 will stream on Prime Video at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday. It's unlikely we'll see Wallace in the winner's circle.
