Kaden Honeycutt wins pole for NASCAR Truck Series race at Bristol

Kaden Honeycutt will lead the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field to the green flag for Friday's Tennessee Army National Guard 250 (7:30 p.m. ET, FS1, NRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).

Honeycutt earned his second career pole ahead of his 65th start with a lap of 15.066 seconds around the half-mile Bristol Motor Speedway.

Honeycutt earned the pole on the first of two qualifying laps and nearly topped his first lap before getting loose on the exit of turn 4 at the conclusion of his qualifying run.

"That is so awesome," Honeycutt told Fox Sports. "That second lap I went after it a little harder. I knew the first lap was really good. I feel like I have so much confidence in this race team."

Notable qualifying results

Christian Eckes will join Honeycutt on the front row, with Layne Riggs, Chase Briscoe and Jake Garcia rounding out the top five. Ty Majeski, Carson Hocevar, Kyle Busch, Ben Rhodes and Gio Ruggiero completed the top 10.

Other notable qualifying efforts include Ross Chastain in 11th, Corey Heim in 12th, Christopher Bell in 15th, defending Bristol winner Chandler Smith in 16th and Corey LaJoie in 19th.

The Tennessee Army National Guard 250 will go green shortly after 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS1, NRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
