As the start of the 2025-26 NBA regular season nears, teams are looking to make last-minute moves to upgrade their roster ahead of the season to make a run at a championship.

Among these teams is the Philadelphia 76ers, who are coming off a disappointing season last year that saw them finish with the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference.

Of course, the 76ers’ struggles last season were mainly caused by both Joel Embiid and Paul George missing time due to injuries but with them returning healthy this season, they are looking to make a run at a top seed in the East.

Despite this, NBA insider Jake Fischer reported that the 76ers are exploring trade options for both Andre Drummond and Kelly Oubre Jr. to free up extra cap space to re-sign restricted free agent Quentin Grimes.

If Philadelphia elects to move Drummond, the veteran center should draw interest from many teams around the NBA and these three teams could be potential landing spots.

Golden State Warriors

The Golden State Warriors are still in desperate need of frontcourt depth alongside Draymond Green, though it has been reported that they have a deal in place with Al Horford in free agency that should be finalized after Jonathan Kuminga makes his decision.

While Golden State may sign Horford, they could still use Drummond as a backup center to bolster their bench.

from the 76ers would give them a great rebounder, defender and inside scorer who would be a massive boost to their frontcourt after years of struggles in the area.

Detroit Pistons

After being the surprise team in the NBA last season, the Detroit Pistons will enter the new season with high expectations and adding Drummond to their roster could be a solid move for them.

Of course, the Pistons have Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed inside, but adding a great defender and rebounder like Drummond could help the Pistons chase a top seed in the East this season.

The veteran center also fits how Detroit plays due to his defensive impact and rebounding skills, giving the Pistons another tough-nosed player in the paint.

Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have been linked to Drummond over the past week as a potential salary dump by the 76ers.

For the Nets, acquiring Drummond would leave them with two potential scenarios as they could elect to hold him until the trade deadline to try and acquire more assets for their rebuild via trade.

Brooklyn could also buy out Drummond’s contract due to their immense amount of cap space, which would then likely leave multiple teams trying to sign the veteran in free agency.

While these three teams could all make a move from Drummond, there could be multiple teams around the NBA that show interest in the veteran center to upgrade their frontcourt depth entering the new season.
