NBA players do not like getting dunked on, but that happens more often than many would like. It is undoubtedly a highlight reel when a player is put on a poster, and many attempt the spectacular.

Since NBA's inception, players have always attacked the rim, while others attempt to stop them. Shaquille O'Neal, who is arguably the most dominant player in NBA history led the league in dunks before he was overtaken by Dwight Howard in the 2017-18 season.

Dunking is a big part of the game, as there is also a dunk contest during the All-Star weekend. Michael Jordan, who won multiple slam dunk contests was the victim of a poster during his illustrious career.

One standout situation was during the 1993 Eastern Conference finals against the New York Knicks.

With 50 seconds left on the clock in Game 2 of the series, Knicks shooting guard John Starks drove to the rim and was met by Horace Grant but had no problem throwing it down. Jordan, who was providing help was also in the frame, but there is an argument if that should count as a dunk over His Airness.

NBA released a video of players - past and present - reacting to iconic moments in the league. Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell was shown a tape of Stark's dunk against the Chicago Bulls, and he had this to say.

“That is John Starks, man. He’s a good guy. I like John. People say he dunked on Michael. I don’t know about that. I don’t know if Michael was in the frame, I mean, he was in the frame, but I don’t know if he was under him, though. Don’t know if I would count that.”

While that made for an incredible highlight reel and got the fans on their feet at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks could not overcome the Bulls. MJ led his team to a 4-2 series victory, averaging 32.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 7.0 assists, and 2.5 steals.

As every NBA fan knows, MJ never lost a Finals series. After advancing to the Finals, he led the charge in the 4-2 series win over Charles Barkley and the Phoenix Suns, winning a third consecutive Finals MVP award.
