Jamal Crawford played in the NBA for 20 seasons, bouncing all over from teams such as the Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, and more.
His final season was back in 2020 when he played for the Brooklyn Nets.
Even though he never took home a championship ring and isn’t a household name, Crawford holds a very special record.
In fact, Crawford has the most all-time points for a non All-Star.
His 19,419 points beat Eddie Johnson with 19,202 and Jason Terry with 18,881.
That means that Crawford is unquestionably one of the most productive and important non All-Stars in league history.
Why isn’t there more respect on his name?
Always A Sixth Man
Crawford was the sort of player who really had a strong team mentality.
He would do what it took to boost up his squad and give them major assists.
Plus, he was comfortable starting games or coming off the bench – whatever his team needed.
That is what led him to being named the league’s Sixth Man of the Year three times.
In the end, his career average was 14.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists a game.
Some of his best years were with the Los Angeles Clippers and he was often a pivotal part of the team as they rebuilt themselves and attempted to make the Western Conference Finals.
Even until the end, Crawford was still being very productive.
Up until his last two seasons, the guard was scoring an average of double-digits during every game.
When he hung up his jersey, the league lost one of the hardest-working role players around, one who wasn’t all about glitz and glamor and hogging the spotlight but rather just helping out the team and giving it all he had.
