The New York Knicks suffered their second consecutive loss after succumbing to the inspired Chicago Bulls at Madison Square Garden. This was the third game without Kemba Walker on the rotation, and they looked a little better, yet that wasn't enough to beat the Bulls.
At the end of the first half, however, things looked very difficult for the Knickerbockers, who trailed Chicago by 18 points. Julius Randle and Evan Fournier voiced their frustrations, going at it due to a misunderstanding on the defensive end.
The duo starred in a heated on-court altercation, which set the alarms at MSG. Things aren't going well for the Knicks right now, and even though they tried to pull off the comeback against Chicago, the Bulls were too much for them.
Following the game, both Randle and Fournier talked about their exchange, explaining they were just communicating, clarifying this doesn't change anything between them.
“It looks like we’re arguing,” Randle said, via Yahoo Sports. “….We went to the locker room (to) talk it out. We say regardless, at the end of the day we’ve got each other’s back and we’re in this together. That’s important.
“…. You can have differences. You can communicate and talk and say what you see on the court. But at the end of the day, we’ve got to know that we’re riding with each other regardless.
“I think that was very clear communication between us, between all of us.”
Fournier echoed his teammate's words, saying they just tried to share their points of view. That really worked as the Knicks outscored the Bulls 32-20 in the 3rd quarter, eventually losing the game by only 4 points, 119-115.
“I think the key was communicating,” Fournier said afterward. “I would rather have that than not saying anything and hold grudges and stuff. So, stuff like that happens all the time and I’m glad it happened, because we played much better in that third quarter.”
Randle is still in good spirits despite the team's two-game skid. He stated that a good run in the next two weeks could take them to the top of the East, and they hope to enter a good streak pretty soon.
Last night's game was a rollercoaster for their fans. Even Stephen A. Smith was spotted going through it while his team was dominated by the surprising Bulls. They have made big changes in recent days, hoping to turn things around. Now it's time to start winning matches and emulate what they did last season.
