The Los Angeles Lakers are already down one superstar against the LA Clippers tonight, and their other one is also listed on the injury report.
Anthony Davis has been officially listed as probable with bilateral Achilles tendinopathy against the LA Clippers tonight.
Davis' presence will be major against the Clippers, especially because the Clippers are missing their defensive big man anchor in Ivica Zubac. Without Zubac on the floor, one would expect Davis to continuously pound the Clippers on the interior.
This season, one could argue that Anthony Davis has been the Lakers' most consistent player. Seldom missing games, Anthony Davis is averaging 24.9 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals on 56/31/81 shooting. It's been a tremendous season for Davis, and the Lakers will absolutely need him against the LA Clippers tonight, especially without LeBron James.
Surprisingly, the Los Angeles Lakers already hold a 2-0 season record against the LA Clippers so far during the 2023-24 NBA season. The last time the Lakers beat the Clippers twice in a season was during the 2019-20 bubble season, and that was actually the last time they had beaten the Clippers in general. It seems like this season, the Lakers have really figured out a way to use their size to irritate the Clippers and force them into being more of a jump-shooting team.
The Los Angeles Lakers and LA Clippers face off at 10:00 p.m. EST tonight.
