Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is escalating his growing rivalry with Nike.
Video emerged Saturday showing Edwards freestyling in the Philippines, and he went out of his way to get a shot in at Nike during his raps. In one line, he raps “We don’t f— with Nike,” which gets the crowd’s approval.

Edwards is signed with Adidas, and he used the trip to the Philippines to debut his new signature shoe, the AE3. That is presumably why he had a rival brand in his head.

Edwards may have also been paying attention to Nike taking shots at him after the Timberwolves were eliminated from the playoffs in May. If he did notice, it probably did not sit well with him that Nike even used his personal slogan against him.
Beefing with a rival is not the worst way to sell shoes. Then again, he may be setting himself up for more heat from Nike if the occasion ever calls for it.
