Blockbuster NBA Trade Idea Has 76ers Land $220 Million Superstar for Paul George

Paul George's first season with the Philadelphia 76ers didn't turn out the way the franchise thought it would. Due to injuries to George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers missed the playoffs. The outcome was far from being title contenders, which is why the star forward joined the organization.

On the bright side, Philly secured the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. They could either use it to draft a promising prospect or put it in a trade package and acquire another All-Star player.

There have been speculations on what the Sixers should do with the draft pick. If the team decides to strike a deal with another franchise and trade the pick, Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey has a suggestion.

According to Bailey's trade proposal, the Sixers could consider making a deal with the Phoenix Suns. Using the No. 3 pick, packaged with George and a few other future draft picks, they could convince the Western Conference team to trade All-Star guard Devin Booker.

"Adding that pick to two more firsts and a far-future pick swap would give the Suns a good batch of draft assets to tip off a rebuild. And trading George somewhere down the line for more assets wouldn't be out of the question either," Bailey wrote.

With Booker, the 76ers are secure over the next three seasons. The former Kentucky guard has three years left in his four-year, $220 million contract. Also, the Sixers could be a better team for the 6-foot-6 guard, since they are aiming to contend for the title.

It will also be an easier situation for Philly to dump George's four-year, $212 million maximum contract. The veteran forward will be 36 years old by the time he finishes the third year of his deal. Additionally, the nine-time All-Star's recent injury woes won't be helpful for the Sixers in the future.
