Cameras catch Chicago Bulls guard’s obscene gesture during game

Newly installed Chicago Bulls guard Collin Sexton is not wasting time in making an impact and earning the trust of head coach Billy Donovan.

Sexton came off the bench against the Brooklyn Nets in his second game with the Bulls and dropped 21 points. The 27-year-old added five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 32 minutes of playing time. However, it wasn’t enough as the Bulls bowed to the Nets, 123-115.

Since arriving in Chicago , Sexton has averaged 19.0 points in two games played. Right now, he’s making a case for potentially being the right replacement for Coby White

Chicago Bulls guard Collin Sexton beefing with the rim

Eager to prove himself, Sexton was caught on camera having a hilarious exchange with the rim in the dying minutes of the third quarter. Despite going 6-of-8 from the charity stripe during the game, Sexton was clearly displeased when he missed the first of his freebies in that moment.

He glared at the rim before attempting his second freebie, then defiantly flipping his middle finger at it when the ball went in.

The Charlotte Hornets traded Sexton to the Bulls on Feb. 4 in exchange for Coby White and Mike Conley. The Bulls are Sexton’s fourth NBA team. He started his NBA career as the eighth overall pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2018 Draft.

After four seasons in Cleveland, Sexton played three seasons with the Utah Jazz.  He put pen to paper on a deal with the Hornets this past offseason as part of a sign-and-trade deal with the Jazz.

Sexton debuted with the Bulls on Feb. 7 in a game against the Denver Nuggets. Sexton, who will become an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, is expected to provide backcourt depth for the Bulls.

The eight-year veteran has his work cut out in terms of securing heavy minutes off the bench. Chicago’s backcourt is going to be crowded again once Josh Giddey and Tre Jones return from their respective hamstring injuries.
