Cavs eliminating FanDuel Sports studio shows for road games

Cavaliers pre- and postgame shows on FanDuel Sports Network will still exist. Just not when the Cavs are playing road games.

Instead, the Cavaliers Live studio program will now only air 30 minutes before tipoff of home games. Road-game coverage of that kind has been eliminated.

Cayleigh Griffin, the host of those shows, revealed as much when it was announced she would split duties between hosting and sideline reporting for Fan Duel Sports broadcasts of Timberwolves games. She will continue her role with Cavaliers Live as well.

Longtime Cavs in-game analyst and team legend Austin Carr has also worked on the Cavs studio shows, and his future there is unclear. Former Cavs guard Daniel “Booby” Gibson occasionally offered analysis on Cavaliers Live last season as well.

(Full disclosure: I co-host Full Court Cleveland on the BIG PLAY Sports network with Booby, which aired on Fan Duel Sports last season. The two of us, and Cavs Spanish play-by-play man Rafael Hernandez-Brito, are returning to that particular show for 2025-26.)

The majority of Cavs games will still be available on Fan Duel Sports Network this season. Those that aren’t will either be broadcast nationally or simulcast locally. It is widely believed that Cavs games will soon move to Rocket Entertainment Sports Network, owned by team owner Dan Gilbert and Gray Media.

This marks the first season of the NBA’s new media rights deal, which consists of holdover and Disney-owned ESPN/ABC, along with newcomers NBC and Amazon Prime.

The Cavs will hold media day on Monday, followed by the start of training camp a day later in Florida.
