Center Jock Landale Waived By Houston Rockets

Center Jock Landale is set to be waived by the Houston Rockets. The news was first reported by ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania. His contract was set to become guaranteed on July 7. Landale was a supplemental piece for the Rockets during the 2024-25 regular season. He averaged 4.8 points per game and 3.3 rebounds. Where will the young center play next?

The Houston Rockets are waiving center Jock Landale ahead of his July 7 guarantee date, sources tell ESPN. Landale is expected to sign with his preferred destination upon clearing waivers.

Landale began his career in 2021 with the San Antonio Spurs. He then spent the next season with the Phoenix Suns before playing for the Houston Rockets over the last two seasons. His next team will be looking to help Londale reach his full potential. He has yet to unlock that in the National Basketball Association.

A few teams that could be good fits for Londale are the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. The Pacers lost Center Myles Turner to free agency earlier this week. That left a sizable void at the center position for the defending Eastern Conference champions. Miami has had a surprisingly quiet offseason. Landale could benefit from playing alongside Center Bam Adebayo and learning under Head Coach Erik Spoelstra.
