
Chris Kent has been named the Austin Spurs’ head coach, San Antonio’s NBA G League affiliate announced in a press release.
Kent joins Austin after serving as assistant coach and director of player development at Florida State last season, helping guide the Seminoles to an 18-15 record. Kent spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach with the Rip City Remix, the Trail Blazers’ affiliate.
Kent began his coaching career as an intern with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants from 2013-15 before joining Florida State as a graduate assistant. He later served as director of player development at South Florida during the 2017/18 season before joining the Chicago Bulls in 2018 as a coaching intern. Kent served as a video coordinator with the Bulls for three seasons before getting promoted to an assistant coaching position with the Windy City Bulls during the 2022/23 season.
