Former Warriors Star Reveals Why Golden State’s Hospitality is Best, ‘Not Many Organizations…’

DeMarcus Cousins was not with the Golden State Warriors for very long. However, it sure sounds like the former All-Star enjoyed his time in the Bay Area.

The former Warriors center opened up about the subject on an appearance for FanDuel TV.

Cousins said, "Being a guy that was a part of the organization, ... It’s definitely one of the top organizations in the NBA. They treat their players well. They treat players’ families well."

The bruising big man continued:

"From meal plans on the road to traveling, I mean, during the playoffs, finals, they have their own separate plane just for players’ family members. So it's not many organizations doing that. ... Obviously, it's early, but I know dealing with the Warriors myself, the organization is going to roll out the red carpet."

Warriors culture speaks to strength of organization

The Warriors dynasty was a well-oiled machine. Part of the on-court product that was seen has to be credit to how well the team treats their players off the court.

Cousins is not the only player to come out and praise the way they conduct business. Draymond Green has done it in the past. Jimmy Butler did it after his arrival to the team too.

Shams Charania communicated just how highly the well-traveled star had thought of the Warriors back in February. That was only after getting a little taste of what the franchise had to offer.

Charania said, "He does feel like this organization is better than any other organization he’s been a part of. But I’m telling you it’s different this time. I haven’t sensed the same feeling he’s had when he went to Philly, when he went to Miami. This is different for Jimmy Butler going to Golden State."

The expectation here would be that Golden State's strong treatment of their players will always leave the door open for stars wanting to come to the Bay Area. That should allow for the success of the franchise to continue as long as the regime operates as they do.
