The Charlotte Hornets intend to hire Will Weaver as a coaching advisor to head coach Charles Lee, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Weaver most recently served as an assistant with the Brooklyn Nets (2023-24), his second stint with the team. He has also served as an assistant with the Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers, as well as Sam Houston State and Texas in the NCAA ranks.
Additionally, Weaver served as the head coach of Paris Basketball (2022-23), the G League’s Long Island Nets, and the Australian NBL’s Sydney Kings. He was named G League Coach of the Year with Long Island in 2018-19.

The Hornets finished 19-63 and recently lost former coach Steve Clifford to the Phoenix Suns. Clifford will serve in an advisory role as well.
