Anthony Edwards wasn’t particularly pleased with the officiating in the Timberwolves’ 107-101 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder Monday night in Oklahoma City.
Bally Sports North’s Lea B. Olson asked Edwards in his postgame, on-court interview how the Timberwolves were able to come into Oklahoma City and pull out a win. He took that as an opportunity to rip into the officiating.
“I don’t know. I don’t know. And Imma take the fine because the refs did not give us no calls tonight,” Edwards said. “We had to play through every bump, every grab — I don’t know. I don’t know how we won tonight. Big shoutout to my team, big shoutout to my coaches, for sure.”
Before the interview, the on-court television cameras captured Edwards appearing to say "cheating a** refs" after the final horn sounded.
Edwards was visibly frustrated in the first half when Chet Holmgren made a lot of contact on his dunk attempt in transition and was not called for a foul.
Edwards also had a big dunk in the fourth quarter that put the Wolves up 101-97 with just under two minutes remaining. It appeared that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hit his arm as he went up for the dunk. No call.

There were plays like those scattered throughout Monday night’s game.
While Edwards was begging for calls and not getting them, Gilgeous-Alexander attempted 16 free throws to Edwards’ four on his way to 37 points.
In all, the Timberwolves were called for 19 fouls to the Thunder’s 17.
