Brandy Tatum made her displeasure known after Game 1 of the Boston Celtics-Orlando Magic series.

Celtics star Jayson Tatum suffered an injury scare during Sunday’s series opener against the Magic. Tatum was going up for a dunk in the fourth quarter when he was fouled hard by Magic guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. The six-time All-Star Tatum, who also received some contact from Orlando big man Wendell Carter Jr. on the play, took a tough spill and landed on his right wrist.

Tatum remained in the game but missed both of his ensuing free throws (as the officials whistled Caldwell-Pope for a flagrant-1 foul). But the Celtics still won easily by a 103-86 final score as Tatum finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds on 8/22 shooting.

After the game, Tatum’s mother Brandy was waiting for him outside the locker room as he arrived and delivered a strong message. “Want me to go to the Orlando locker room?” asked Brandy of her son (to which Tatum shook his head). You can see the video here.

The good news for the Celtics is that Tatum revealed to reporters afterwards that X-rays on his wrist came back clean. He also downplayed the injury and said that his wrist was “alright.”

Regardless though, Mama Tatum was not at all happy about the dangerous play there on her son. As a team, the Magic are known for being physical (and borderline dirty) and have come under fire multiple times this season already over some very questionable plays.
