The Utah Jazz have waived guard Jaden Springer, sending him to the NBA waiver wire, the team announced in a press release.

Springer was facing a Friday deadline for a $400,000 partial guarantee on his $2.35 million non-guaranteed contract. With the Jazz choosing to waive him, he will now be available to other teams unless he is claimed off waivers.

After joining Utah on a 10-day deal, Springer signed a three-year contract with the club in March. The final two years of the deal were non-guaranteed. He appeared in 17 games with the Jazz, including two starts, and averaged 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 13.2 minutes per game.

The 6-foot-4 combo guard was traded by the Celtics to the Rockets at the February deadline along with a future second-round pick. Houston waived him shortly after, and he signed with Utah once he cleared waivers. He played in 26 games for Boston last season in a reserve role.

Originally drafted in the first round by the 76ers in 2021, Springer has yet to carve out a consistent rotation role. He has played in 110 NBA games overall, averaging 2.9 points in 8.8 minutes and shooting just 23.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Following the move, the Jazz have 15 players on standard contracts.
