:Just three years after joining the Nets together, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are now headed towards an ugly divorce that will leave the franchise in shambles.

Regarding the reasoning behind Durant's trade request, there is still a lot of uncertainty about how it all started -- and how it will end. But as things play out in Brooklyn, neither Durant nor his co-star from New Jersey are feeling particularly good about the situation.

According to Brandon 'Scoop B' Robinson, the way the Nets front office has handled all the drama has rubbed some people the wrong way.

(via Heavy):

“Just in conversation with people who know best, I will tell you that they were pretty annoyed with the Nets and just how things were handled, whether it was opt-in, opt-out and all of the things considered,” Robinson said. “And there are some people that are very disgruntled with how they’ve handled him specifically because he is the person who really got Kevin Durant to join the Brooklyn Nets with him, a guy from West Orange, New Jersey, a stone’s throw from Manhattan, not too far from Brooklyn.”

The loss of several key coaches also helped worsen the relationship between the Nets and their disgruntled superstars.

“I know that someone who is tied to Eli Carter, a guy that knows Kyrie well, was let go because of the whole vaccination portion of it. And then I’m told [he] was promised that he could resume his assistant coaching situation, once the mandates were what they were in New York City. No such dice,” Robinson added. “In addition to that Kevin Durant’s shooting coach Adam Harrington was let go from the Brooklyn Nets. And I know that those two gentlemen are upset about how that was handled.”

When the Nets brought in these guys a few years ago, nobody imagined it would end like this in so short a time. Instead of becoming the dynasty they were supposed to be, the Nets squandered their trust with KD and Irving and stand on the verge of collapse after an exit in the first round.

On the surface, both star players got exactly what they wanted, but it seems things are more complicated behind the scenes. At this point, there may be no salvaging this Nets team at all.
