Knicks’ Josh Hart continues tradition despite Mitchell Robinson’s departure

Spending his entire eight-year career with the Knicks, Mitchell Robinson grew close to many of his teammates, including Josh Hart, and the rest of New York’s starting 5. Robinson finished his tenure with the Knicks, averaging 7.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.

Mitchell Robinson’s heartfelt message to Knicks fans

Veteran center Mitchell Robinson bid farewell to his Knicks fans after agreeing to a new contract with the Celtics. In the end, it wasn’t what he planned heading into the offseason, but leaving the only team he’s ever played for in the NBA will keep them in his heart moving forward.

Robinson addressed the fans and the Knicks organization in an Instagram post.

“My life is a climb but the view’s great,” Robinson began his post with this quote, which was followed by a thank you letter to the Knicks and their fans. “New York Knicks fans and the whole Knicks organization, the past 8 years have been the highlight of my life. I can’t thank you guys enough for the journey and opportunities. I know it’s a lot of emotions going around trust me I feel it myself But I will always have love for where it all started! I love you and will miss you! Once a Knick always a Knick.”

After helping the Knicks to their first championship in 53 years, the Celtics are expecting him to take on a vital role with the team as it turns the page toward a new era after trading Jaylen Brown to the 76ers.
