Lakers Cut Ties With Ex-Hawks Top 10 Pick

The Los Angeles Lakers have had a complete 180 happen to their team since they acquired Luka Doncic in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks. They've been playing some of their best basketball over the past month, and it wouldn't be a surprise if they were near the top of the Western Conference standings when the season ends.

That's not the only move they've made this season, as they also acquired Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton in a trade that sent D'Angelo Russell to the Brooklyn Nets. With all the changes to the team, the Lakers recently had to cut a former Atlanta Hawks player who was a part of the team that went to the Eastern Conference Finals during the 2020-2021 season.

The Lakers waived Cam Reddish on Thursday after converting two-way Jordan Goodwin to a standard NBA contract. Goodwin has been a spark off the bench for the Lakers, while Reddish hasn't seen much time on the floor for the team.

Reddish was originally drafted in 2019 by the Hawks with the 10th pick and played three seasons with them until being traded to the New York Knicks during the 2021-2022 season.

Reddish averaged 11.1 points per game for the Hawks, but things never panned out the way the team would've liked and decided to part ways. Since then, Reddish has played for the Knicks, Trail Blazers, and Lakers.
