Los Angeles Lakers starting small forward Cam Reddish, playing as part of a LeBron James-free late fourth quarter lineup against the Toronto Raptors at home, had to leave the game when he was elbowed in the jaw by new starting Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley on a drive.
Although it certainly looked like an inadvertent, if hard, graze to me while positioning himself into a shooting motion, attendant referees disagreed. Quickley was whistled for his sixth foul and ejected, but he was also assessed a flagrant for his trouble, giving Reddish two free throws. The 6'8" Dukie went 1-for-2 from the foul line before departing for LA's locker room. He has yet to return.
LA led by a possession, 111-109, when Reddish exited for LA's locker room with 3:52 remaining in regulation. In 22:38, Reddish finished with 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting (including a surprising 4-of-6 shooting from long range) and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe, along with a rebound, a steal, and a block.
