In a historic performance, the Los Angeles Lakers set a franchise record by sinking 22 3-pointers in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
This feat is tied with two other games in franchise history when the Purple and Gold made the same number of shots from beyond the arc.
Against the Thunder, Luka Doncic led the way by notching 30 points, including five 3-pointers out of 11 attempts. Moreover, Dorian Finney-Smith, Austin Reaves, LeBron James and Gabe Vincent all shot better than 50 percent from beyond the arc to help L.A. match the incredible franchise record.

Ultimately, the Lakers went home with the 126-99 win against the top team in the NBA. The Purple and Gold franchise also improved its record to 48-30, further bolstering its chances to automatically qualify for the playoffs.
Along with the performance against the Thunder, the Lakers previously achieved the same record in 2023 and 2019.
On Nov. 15, 2023, James, Anthony Davis and D'Angelo Russell shot 62.9 percent from downtown to help the Lakers get the 134-109 win against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Meanwhile, on Feb. 8, 2019, the Lakers took a narrow 129-128 victory over a Boston Celtics squad that still had All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving in the lineup. During that game, the Lakers drained 22 3-pointers out of 41 attempts to secure the win against the Beantown team.
The Lakers' impressive shooting display shows how dangerous they can be with the offensive talent they have. Sure enough, after such a huge statement win, a lot of eyes will be on Doncic, James and the entire team to see if they can keep playing this well.
