Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James grabbed headlines after making a big announcement on Monday. The NBA’s all-time leading scorer, who averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, 1.0 steals and 2.1 triples in 70 games played for the Lakers last season, revealed that he will be making “The Second Decision” on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 12 p.m. ET.

While no other details were provided in James’ post, he did say that this will be the “decision of all decisions.” The general belief is that the 40-year-old will announce his decision to retire at the end of the 2025-26 season, which will be his 23rd in the NBA.

To be clear, there has been no confirmation that the four-time NBA champ will be hanging it up at the end of this upcoming season. However, ticket-sellers are not taking any chances. In fact, they have decided to capitalize on this development by significantly increasing the price of the Lakers’ final regular-season game.

According to TickPick, ticket prices for the Lakers-Jazz game at Crypto.com Arena on Apr. 12, 2026, have skyrocketed. From $85, the cheapest tickets for what will potentially be James’ last regular-season game have increased to $445 each (h/t NBACentral).

It comes as no surprise that James’ decision announcement has directly impacted the Lakers. In fact, if he confirms on Tuesday that this will be his final season, ticket prices for what will be his farewell tour will certainly see a significant bump — be it in Crypto.com Arena or for games on the road.

James’ first edition of the infamous “The Decision” happened in 2010. At that time, he announced his intention to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers and take his talents to the Miami Heat as a free agent. After 15 years, it appears that James has made a very different decision.
