LeBron James, John Legend among investors for new fantasy sports platform from ESPN fantasy football expert

Lebron James is (kind of) making the move to football... as an investor!

Variety reports that James is among those investing in Fantasy Life, which is a "fantasy sports and gaming platform launched in 2022 by veteran fantasy football personality Matthew Berry."

James is joined by Maverick Carter, Gerry Cardinale, John Legend, Fortnite co-creator Donald Mustard, co-owner of the Miami Marlins and Alpine Formula One Racing Roger Ehrenberg, co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment David Blitzer, YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley, and Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham Football Club owner Tony Khan, providing the platform with $7 million.

Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Austin Ekeler have also previously invested. 

"The new coin will help Berry’s Fantasy Life platform build out a more customizable app and mobile experiences for players. Fantasy sports is built around the principle that sports fans want the chance to assemble their own all-star rosters of favored players," Variety's Cynthia Littleton wrote. 

And Berry released a statement through the outlet about what this means to him. 

“My entire adult life has been about helping fantasy players and sports gamers win, have more fun, and make this industry better,” he said. “Fantasy Life is the culmination of my decades of experience — a destination for every kind of player, from beginner to sharp.
