Luka Doncic knows how to make a head-turning entrance. The Los Angeles Lakers star proved that on Friday, ahead of their post-Thanksgiving showdown with the Dallas Mavericks.
The Slovenian guard, who is averaging 35.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, 9.2 assists and 1.9 steals heading into the Mavs game, drove his Bugatti W16 Mistral to Crypto.com Arena. According to multiple reports, the car is worth $5 million.
Driving such an expensive hypercar naturally draws attention, and Doncic quickly generated plenty of buzz online, especially after the Lakers posted a video of his arrival.
"vroom @lukadoncic," the Lakers wrote while sharing a video of the car entering the arena, and of Doncic stepping out of his luxury vehicle.
"Ready to drop 98-54-76," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "Hollywood Luka is the Luka …..he was always born to be."
"Luka is basically the basketball version of Batman," a fan added. A fourth poster echoed a similar reaction, saying, "It's giving Batman."
"One of just 99 Bugatti Mistral units," a supporter remarked.
"Hollywood Luka is my FAVORITE Luka," a follower shared.
Doncic opting to use his Bugatti W16 Mistral for Friday's game couldn't have come at a better time. After all, the Lakers were facing Doncic's former team in the Mavs.
Regardless of whether Doncic purposely used the car to show the Mavs how he's thriving and happy in L.A. or not, the 26-year-old guard definitely made quite a statement.
For what it's worth, Doncic recently showed off the car in a video with popular rapper Snoop Dogg, a moment that the Lakers also posted on social media.
