The Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis on February 1 in what was called the most shocking trade in NBA history.

Mark Cuban, who no longer owns the Mavericks, urged general manager Nico Harrison not to trade Doncic, according to NBA insider Marc Stein

However, by the time Harrison and Cuban connected, the trade was already done.

Doncic appeared in 422 games with the Mavericks. He averaged 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 8.3 assists and made five All-Star teams and five All-NBA teams.

Cuban spoke to Stephen A. Smith of ESPN on Friday and he revealed how he found out about the Doncic-Davis trade.

Cuban sat courtside during the Mavericks-Lakers game in Los Angeles back in February. He told ESPN that he "hated" watching Doncic play against Dallas.

Doncic finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists against the Mavericks. He will return to Dallas next week when the Lakers take on the Mavericks on April 9.

Doncic has appeared in 23 games with the Lakers. He’s averaging 26.8 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.9 assists with Los Angeles while shooting 41.2% overall, 35.1% from beyond the arc and 79.9% from the foul line.

The Lakers are in fourth place in the West, while the Mavericks are in ninth place.
