There was no shortage of action in Game 4 of the NBA playoffs first-round series between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Nikola Jokic did all he could to lead his team against the Wolves. The three-time NBA MVP finished with 24 points on 8-of-22 shooting, 15 rebounds, nine assists, three steals and a block in 41 minutes of action.
It still wasn’t enough. The Nuggets went down 3-1 in the series after losing Game 4 on the road, 112-96.
Jokic and Co. will now host Game 5 in Denver on Monday night with their season on the line.
Tempers flared at the end of the game. Jokic rushed Wolves forward Jaden McDaniels after the latter scored a wide-open lay-up with the game already settled.
Jokic was infuriated that McDaniels broke an unwritten rule. He made his feelings very clear, nearly causing a brawl in the dying seconds of the game.
Jaden McDaniels lays it in to go up 16 with 1.3 seconds left.

While most players did their part to try to break up the scuffle, Timberwolves star Julius Randle escalated the situation by going at Jokic. Both players were assessed with technical fouls and ejected from the game.
The NBA did not take the incident lightly. The league announced on Sunday that both players have been fined for their role in the altercation.
“Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has been fined $50,000 and Minnesota Timberwolves forward-center Julius Randle has been fined $35,000 for their roles in an on-court altercation,” the NBA’s official statement read.
Jokic has been slapped with a heavier fine after he “initiated the incident.” Randle, on the other hand, was also fined for “forcefully inserting himself into the scrum.”
Jokic and the Nuggets will need to leave everything on the line on Monday to keep their season alive. Tipoff from Ball Arena is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET.
