The 2022-23 NBA season is expected to come to a close Monday night, as the Denver Nuggets are 8.5-point favorites in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat. If this is the last NBA game of the season, let's finish off strong with some prop bet winners.
Max Strus has been a boom-or-bust shooter in the NBA Finals, and it's been mostly bust so far. Through four games, Strus is shooting just 5-of-31 (16.1 percent) from the field. If you take out Game 2, in which he made four threes and scored 14 points, Strus has three total points in the other three games of the series.
With Tyler Herro likely returning for Game 5, I don't see Strus shooting enough (or making enough) to go over this number.
What are we doing here?
Nikola Jokic has recorded a triple-double in 10 of 19 playoff games this year (52.6 percent), yet his odds to record one in Game 5 reflect a 48.8 percent probability. Because Jokic is almost guaranteed to reach 10 points and 10 rebounds against this undersized Miami Heat team, this is essentially a plus-money bet on the center to dish out 10 assists. Please and thank you.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has been the Nuggets' most consistent outside shooter in the postseason. The guard is shooting 39.1 percent from three and is averaging 1.8 made threes per game, and now we're getting a discount because he's gone under this number in three of four NBA Finals games. This could cash in the first quarter.
