The Pacers have signed Cameron Payne and waived Delon Wright, the team announced. Payne, a veteran guard who played 72 games for the Knicks last season, joins Indiana on a training camp deal, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Payne averaged 6.9 points and 2.8 assists last season while shooting 36% from three. He gave New York a spark early in the playoffs before fading later in the run. Drafted 14th overall by Oklahoma City in 2015, Payne has suited up for seven teams over nine seasons.
As for Wright, his stay in Indiana was brief. Signed to an Exhibit 9 deal in late September, he appeared in just four preseason minutes before suffering a head-to-head collision. Wright has logged time with 10 NBA teams since entering the league in 2015.
The Bulls have officially signed and waived Kevin Knox, per the NBA’s transactions log. The deal is believed to be an Exhibit 10 contract, which essentially routes Knox to Chicago’s G League affiliate in Windy City. If he spends 60 days there, he’ll earn a bonus of up to $85,300.
Knox, 26, split time between the NBA and G League last season. He averaged 25.3 points and 8.8 rebounds with Santa Cruz (Golden State’s affiliate) and saw limited action in 14 games for the Warriors.
Once a top-10 pick of the Knicks in 2018, Knox has since bounced between New York, Atlanta, Detroit, Portland, Utah, and Golden State, appearing in 320 career games.
The Bulls currently have 19 players under contract, meaning no corresponding move was needed to finalize the signing.
New Orleans has signed Chase Hunter and Josh Oduro to Exhibit 10 contracts, per Spotrac’s Keith Smith.
Hunter, a six-year standout at Clemson, earned first-team All-ACC honors last season, averaging 16.5 points and shooting 40.7% from three. Oduro, who spent last year with the Birmingham Squadron (the Pelicans’ G League affiliate), averaged 11.4 points and 8.2 rebounds in 44 games.
Both players are expected to be waived and rejoin Birmingham, where they’ll be eligible for bonuses of up to $85,300 if they remain for at least 60 days.
