Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is one of the most clutch performers in NBA history.

But Jokic admits he fumbled in a 119-114 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 on Monday. The visiting Timberwolves erased a 19-point deficit to tie the series 1-1 at Ball Arena.

Minnesota stole home-court advantage and heads to Target Center for the next two contests.

Anthony Edwards, questionable with a knee injury, soldiered on for 30 points and 10 rebounds. Julius Randle added 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the visiting squad.

Jokic still posted 24 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists. The three-time MVP took full accountability for the late-game blunder that cost Denver the game.

The Nuggets entered Monday's Game 2 in control. They held a commanding lead and appeared poised for a 2-0 series advantage in the Western Conference First Round. But Minnesota had other plans.

The Timberwolves used an 11-0 run in the second quarter to make it a game. From there, both teams traded blows through a tightly contested fourth quarter.

The Nuggets had a chance to tie the game late. Jokic got to a wide-open floater but chose to pass to Christian Braun instead. Braun was fouled and split his free throws. Denver never got another chance.

Jokic addressed the crucial final play in his postgame press conference.

"Yeah, I thought I had him and kind of stepped up and jumped in here and I thought I had a pass, but I should definitely take that floater," he said. "But, you know, we had two free throws, so it was sort of a bad ending, but I definitely should have taken that floater."

The moment proved to be the nail in the coffin of a brutal fourth quarter for Jokic. The Serbian superstar shot 1-of-7 from the field and 0-of-2 from three in the final 12 minutes. He recorded zero free-throw attempts and only one assist.

Jokic and the Nuggets have two days to regroup before Game 3 on Thursday at Target Center.
