Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo are two of the biggest names in basketball.
Jokic, a Serbian national, averaged 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 10.2 assists during the 2024–25 season and is a three-time MVP. Antetokounmpo, a Greek national, averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists last season and has won two MVP awards in his career.
Basketball has become increasingly globalized in recent years, with the NBA attracting top talent from around the world. This summer, EuroBasket is expected to take place, a tournament-style competition including European basketball teams, from Aug. 27 through Sept. 14.
On Monday, Serbia's men's basketball national team announced that Jokic is indeed on their EuroBasket roster, meaning fans are on course to see Antetokounmpo and him face off in the tournament.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Luka Doncic, who plays for the Slovenian national team, is also anticipated to join them in action. This suggests that three of the NBA's top international players are expected to participate in the EuroBasket Championship.
Doncic averaged 28.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game last season, during which he was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers.
The group stages of this year's tournament will take place in Cyprus, Finland, Poland and Latvia, with the final phase occurring in Riga, Latvia. It's worth noting that all three stars mentioned are in separate groups, so they will have to advance through the initial stage to eventually meet on the same court.
