OKC Thunder Get Schedule Change For Matchup Against Phoenix Suns

The NBA announced a major schedule change for the Oklahoma City Thunder’s matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday Feb. 5.

That matchup will now be shown at 9:30 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ESPN. It replaces the regular scheduled game between the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans that was originally supposed to be shown on ESPN.

With the NBA’s viewership down this season, they decided to make a major change in the schedule to showcase the Thunder, who are the best team in the Western Conference, and the Suns, who have three superstar players in Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, if he is still on the roster due to multiple trade rumors.

This contest holds several major storylines, so it makes sense why the NBA decided to make the change. Of course, the major storyline is that it will feature Durant returning to face his old team in the Thunder in Oklahoma City. The matchup will also showcase some of the best players in the league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Durant, Booker and also a rising star in Jalen Williams.

The matchup also comes just one day before the trade deadline, which could provide some spicy headlines in the game, especially for the Phoenix Suns and their continued pursuit to land Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat.

This is a great move by the NBA, and it should be an entertaining matchup against the best team in the West in the Thunder and also a star-studded Suns’ team.
