The Philadelphia 76ers just can't catch a break at the moment. They got themselves a rare win recently, against the Detroit Pistons, but in the process, saw another one of their players get injured.

Injuries have arguably been the biggest reason behind the Sixers' struggles this season. Paul George and Joel Embiid have constantly dealt with fitness issues. Tyrese Maxey has had to spend a spell on the sidelines as well.

Drummond is the latest one to see his name put on the injured list after spraining his right ankle. The veteran will be out for the 76ers' next three games and he will be re-evaluated this weekend.

On the back of this, the 76ers have decided to make a roster change as well, waiving a 24-year-old.

According to Michael Scotto on X, the 76ers will waive Lester Quinones. The 24-year-old is expected to have suitors on the market. He is being waived so the Sixers can sign Pete Nance to a 2-way deal. Philly needs frontcourt depth with Drummond out.

Quinones went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft before eventually ending up with the Golden State Warriors. He had somewhat of a squad role there last season, averaging 10.7 minutes per game.

As a result, the hope was that Quinones could prove to be a role player for the Sixers as well but unfortunately, that did not turn out to be the case.

Quinones only played four games for the Sixers, averaging 4.2 minutes and not making a single three-pointer. So, parting ways might be the best step for both parties at this point in time.
