Reigning NBA Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle will be sidelined with a left hip flexor strain and will be re-evaluated within two weeks, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Castle was injured during the first half of Sunday's 123-110 victory over the visiting Sacramento Kings and sat out the second half. He revealed afterwards that he was experiencing soreness.

Castle, 21, is averaging 17.3 points, 7.5 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 13 games.

Last season, Castle averaged a rookie-best 14.7 points and also led with 74 steals while playing in 81 games this season (47 starts). He also averaged 4.1 assists and 3.7 rebounds and made 95 3-point baskets.

Castle was the second straight Rookie of the Year winner from the Spurs. Big man Victor Wembanyama was a unanimous winner the previous season.

Wembanyama also is sidelined for the Spurs due to a calf injury.

San Antonio (9-4) hosts the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. Ja Morant (calf) is among the injured players for Memphis.
