Savannah James Didn't Add a Word After Bryce James' Jersey Number at Arizona Was Revealed

As LeBron James gears up for an NBA record 23rd season, his youngest son, Bryce James, is preparing for the next chapter of his career.

Throughout his high school career, the younger James was ranked as a three-star recruit, accumulating three offers, according to 247Sports. The No. 283 recruit in the country ultimately chose to play at Arizona over offers from Ohio State and Duquesne, where his father's long-time friend and high school teammate, Dru Joyce III, serves as the head coach.

It's unclear what role James will have in Tucson on a team that returns its second-leading scorer from this past season, Jayden Bradley, and also adds three top-30 recruits. However, the Wildcats did provide some clarity on one important aspect regarding James, specifically which number he will be wearing.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats took to X to share the official roster and numbers for the 2025-26 season, which showed James making a change in numbers from his days at Sierra Canyon.

While he wore No. 5 in high school, he will be following in the footsteps of his father and his older brother, Bronny James, who each wore No. 6 at one point during their careers. The eldest James wore it in his four years with the Miami Heat, while his older brother wore it at USC.

His mother, Savannah James, also shared the news on her Instagram Story.

In terms of what Arizona is getting in James, ESPN reported that when he suited up for  Strive For Greatness on the Nike EYBL circuit, he averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 rebounds, while shooting 39% from the field and 36.8% from deep.

It may make sense to stick around at Arizona for multiple years to develop, but with his father's time in the NBA presumably coming to an end soon, there is a chance that he declares for the draft and attempts to suit up with his brother and father.
