Tyrese Maxey has been nothing short of incredible for the Philadelphia 76ers to start the new NBA season. With superstars Joel Embiid and Paul George in and out of the lineup with respective injuries, Maxey has been a consistently dominant force for the Sixers thus far.

The All-Star point guard has played in all 16 games for Philly this season, averaging 33.0 points on 47.1% shooting, 4.6 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.6 steals. Maxey is also knocking down 4.1 triples per game on a highly efficient 41.5% clip, while averaging a league-high 40.4 minutes per contest.

Maxey, however, has now popped up on the 76ers’ injury report for Tuesday’s game against the Orlando Magic.

Simply put, Maxey has been one of the best players in the league to start the season. As a matter of fact, the 25-year-old was named part of the Top 10 in the NBA’s latest MVP ladder update.

Maxey, who signed a five-year, $204 million extension with the Sixers last year, is now dealing with a new injury. The Sixers announced on Monday via the official injury report that their franchise point guard is nursing a right shoulder sprain.

The good news, however, is that Maxey is listed as probable to play against Orlando. This only means that, barring any unforeseen setbacks, he should be back on the court on Tuesday. At this point, the shoulder injury does not appear to be a cause for concern.

It is worth noting that the Sixers have also listed Paul George (right ankle sprain) as probable to play against the Magic. Joel Embiid (right knee injury management), on the other hand, is questionable.

Philadelphia enters Tuesday’s contest coming off a disappointing 127-117 loss to the Miami Heat. They are currently 9-7 on the season.
