The Golden State Warriors looked to take advantage of being on their home court in Monday’s Game 4 matchup against the Houston Rockets as they tried to take a commanding lead in the series.
That is exactly what the Warriors were able to do as they pulled out a 109-106 victory over the Rockets thanks to a clutch defensive stand by Draymond Green and clutch free throws down the stretch by Jimmy Butler.
It was Butler who led the way for the Warriors as he recorded 27 points, five rebounds and six assists in the victory while Brandin Podziemski added 26 points of his own.
Stephen Curry also had a solid game as he ended with 17 points, three rebounds and three assists in the win.
With the victory, Curry reached a new career milestone and he also passed one of his former teammates along the way.
Monday’s playoff victory was the 102nd of Curry’s career, which passed Kevin Durant of the Phoenix Suns on the all-time list along with Al Horford of the Boston Celtics.

This is a massive accomplishment for Curry as he now stands fourth among active players in playoff victories trailing only LeBron James (184), Green (110) and Klay Thompson (108).
To no surprise, three Warriors legends are now together in the top four playoff wins among active players and both Curry and Green will look to add to that total.
For Durant, he will not be able to add to the total after the Suns missed the playoffs this season after falling extremely below their lofty expectations.
Despite this, Durant will have a chance to add to his total next season with whichever team he is on due to trade rumors but he may have a hard time tracking down Curry, especially with how the Warriors are playing this postseason.
Curry and Golden State will now look to pick up another victory in Houston on Wednesday that would clinch the series and advance them to take on either the Los Angeles Lakers or Minnesota Timberwolves.
