Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker has had a career to remember thus far in the NBA. Playing in his 11th season in the league, Booker has averaged 24.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game in his career. He has made four All-Star Game appearances and has been selected to two All-NBA teams during his time with Phoenix.
Booker was taken with the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by the Suns after playing just one season in college with the Kentucky Wildcats.
So far this season, the 6-foot-5 guard has played in 37 of Phoenix's 40 games, putting up 25.2 points per game on 45% shooting with 4.1 rebounds and 6.5 assists.
Booker is coming off a good performance against the Miami Heat on Tuesday. He played 40 minutes, nearing a triple double with 24 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and one steal. In the third quarter of the game, however, Booker injured his left ankle, as the Suns lost to the Heat 127-121 in the first night of their six-game road trip.
On Thursday, ahead of Phoenix's matchup against the Detroit Pistons, the Suns announced that Booker is out due to a left ankle sprain, according to the official NBA injury report.
His next chance to return to the court will be against the New York Knicks on Saturday. This is unfortunate news for the Suns, who have been playing great all season. They currently sit in seventh place in the Western Conference with a 24-16 record.
Thursday's game against the Pistons (28-10), who have the best record in the Eastern Conference, will tip off at 7 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
