Grayson Allen is in the midst of his best season not only with the Phoenix Suns but throughout his entire eight-year NBA career. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard has played all 12 games for the Suns this term, producing career-high marks of 19.0 points on 45.5% shooting, 4.5 assists, 1.7 steals and 4.2 triples per game.

Allen and the Suns were back in action on Thursday night in a matchup against a shorthanded Indiana Pacers side. Unfortunately for Allen, he was unable to finish the game after being forced to exit in the first half due to a quad injury.

Allen is currently in his third season in Phoenix. He’s taken advantage of Kevin Durant’s offseason departure and has emerged as the Suns’ second option on the offensive end behind Devin Booker.

Phoenix got Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks from the Houston Rockets in exchange for Durant, but both players have missed multiple games this season due to injury. Allen has been a steady force for the Suns, but it now appears that he is going to be added to the team’s injury list.

Allen was seen limping to the locker room as he exited in the first half. This was after the 30-year-old guard collided knees with Pacers center Jay Huff as Allen drove to the basket.

Shortly after Allen headed to the locker room to get himself checked by the medical staff, it was confirmed that he would miss the remainder of the game due to a right quad contusion. Allen finished the contest with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting, one rebound, two assists, a steal and one triple in 12 minutes of action.

After the game, Suns head coach Jordan Ott provided an update on Allen's status. Ott believes Allen suffered a "knee to the quad," per Gabe Guerrero of Suns Valley Podcast. The rookie coach added, however, that Allen is in good spirits and that he should be okay.

Suns reporter Duane Rankin of AZ Central reported after the game that Allen left the arena with a limp, but confirmed that the veteran guard was in good spirits.

It is also worth noting that the Pacers lost forward Aaron Nesmith during the game. He slipped on the court in the third quarter and struggled to get up. Nesmith had to be helped to the locker room and was also unable to return due to left knee soreness. He is expected to miss time.

The Suns cruised to a 133-98 victory against Indiana, improving to 8-5 on the season. It was their fifth straight win. As for Allen, his next chance to play would be on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks. However, given the developments from Thursday night, his status for that game will need to be monitored in the coming days.
