The Phoenix Suns have lost back-to-back games for the first time since December after a 118-114 loss to the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
On Friday, Phoenix lost 117-102 to the New Orleans Pelicans snapping an eight-game winning streak and dealing the Suns only their third loss of 2022. In the loss to the Jazz, the Suns struggled to find production from their bench with only 11 points coming from players not in the starting lineup. Meanwhile, Utah's bench finished with 43 points.
The pair of losses come after Phoenix lost Chris Paul to a fractured thumb. With the 12-time All-Star point guard potentially out for the remainder of the regular season, the team's recent performance in his absence doesn't bode well for the Suns' chances at finishing first in the Western Conference.
Phoenix still has a sizable lead in the standings with a 49-12 record after the pair of losses. The Golden State Warriors at 43-17 and Memphis Grizzlies at 42-20 are the two teams in striking distance of the Suns.
Devin Booker led all players in the loss with 30 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists. Both Cameron Johnson and DeAndre Ayton finished with 23 points each.
