After winning nine of their last 10 games heading into the NBA All-Star break but losing their first two out of the season intermission, LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets seemed like the break did them more harm than good. But Ball tied a Hornets franchise record 10 three-pointers in a game (without even seeing the floor in the fourth quarter), and the team fell one triple shy of team record with 25 in their 129-112 win over the Washington Wizards.
Four of those triples for LaMelo came in a 99-second stretch, which predictably sent play-by-play commentator Eric Collins into one of his patented frenzies.
Help is also on the way for Ball and Co., with the four-game suspensions to Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate for their involvement in a scrap with Detroit concluding with the final buzzer against Washington. With 24 games remaining in the regular season, Charlotte is 27-31 and a half-game back from Atlanta for the ninth-seed in the Eastern Conference.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Ball finished with 37 points on 12-for-20 shooting from the field and 10-for-15 from deep. With that being said, can you name the most recent player to make 10 three-pointers in a game for each NBA franchise?
Good luck!
